History

Explore the moments that made us.

Our founders set out to develop a better solution since they were passionate about the issue of not having safe tableware to eat on. In order to realize our goal, we had to overcome several challenges as a small crew working in a basement.

Amara Daughtry founded Amara Gestures in response to the growing demand for nonporous, more durable, and safer options. Because we avoid chemicals like BPA and can withstand stains and bacterial growth, Amare Gestures ceramics are safer. For this reason, Amara Gestures makes sure the clay body is completely vitrified and that a suitable, long-lasting glaze is placed and fired properly. We have used lead-free, non-toxic materials, fired at high temperatures to create a non-porous surface, and ensured that the glaze is stable and free of problems like cracks or pinholes.

We were able to change to more environmentally friendly methods along the way. Reclaimed or recycled clay, lead-free and non-toxic glazes, and low-impact, energy-efficient methods for production like solar-powered or low-temperature kilns are all part of this. The focus is on producing long-lasting, durable products that minimize waste and provide customers with an entirely positive environmental experience.

In order to improve the dining experience while reducing the impact on the environment, we now desire to keep integrating sustainability, cutting-edge technology, and customized, handmade design.
